Are You Good Enough?

Despite the constant articulation of the not-by-works nature of the gospel by Protestants for half a millennium, the average person on the street still thinks that they will “pass” the judgment because they aren’t as bad as others or because they have done more good deeds than bad ones. Though this video leaves out much it does also express the concept of substitution rather well.

What would you agree with? What would you disagree with in this video? If you were to do the video over what changes would you make?

    Victor,

does “.” mean that you couldn’t have added anything more… that what was said in the post is so complete that all you could say was “period?”

Overall, I like that video; especially the part in which Jesus gets on the scale - instead of the last guy having to get on it (i.e., substitution).

The only item that I did not really care for is that that video seems to endorse the “once saved, always saved” doctrine (which I do not agree with.) So, I would have made the point that the last guy was actually a follower of Jesus - as opposed to someone who just made a one-time declaration of faith in Jesus, and then went off and did his own thing.

Sean, I think I read on another thread that you are working on a paper that refutes the OSAS doctrine; is that correct? I hope so - because I am going to host a “house church”-type meeting at my place in a few weeks; and some of the attendees may bring up the OSAS doctrine. So, if you create such a paper, it would be quite useful to me.
