Jesus commanded true Christians to “Preach the good news of the Kingdom to all the nations, as a witness to all the nations. And then the end will come” Matthew 24:14. It is good that you are trying to spread your ministry through the web but there is much more preaching work to be done on your halfs. Maybe a house to house preaching campaign throughout all the “nations” should be done. . .And then maye the “end will come”.

Brian, thanks for your comment here and throughout the blog. We are endeavoring to preach the gospel of the Kingdom on the streets, in the country and in the cities. May God inspire His people to more boldness with the gospel and love for the lost.

    May the Kingdom come quickly.

Well done! I think you’re all doing a wonderful job with this blog. Thanks for putting so much time and effort into it. It’s also nice that you’ve been expanding it with more categories, pages and types of content including this page for feedback.
I especially like the articles that are simple, straight foreword and confronting. The articles that set forth scripture in a way that’s easy to entreat and that I can begin to apply right away in my life. Those type of teaching articles along with the opportunity to interact and communicate with other believers are the things that really bless me.
Applying and living the word daily and what that experience is like for each of us along with it’s challenges and rewards is what really interests me in hearing about and sharing with others. I look foreword to more of that type of discussion, maybe as time goes on and more people find your site. The deeper theological discussions tend to maybe be over my head so to speak and I find little profit in them personally.
I also like reading comments from people with varying belief sets and from different faith backgrounds, thats a great element of this blog.
As I recommend your site to others, I find that the fact that my comments are posted on the site makes for a point of interest or a good excuse maybe for people that know me to visit the site. There’s some type of connection in that for friends, family and acquaintances opposed to simply having yet another random website recommended to them. Do you know what I mean. Keep up the good work
    :)

    Cash,

Thanks so much for coming back over and over. We wanted this blog to be a place for discussion among all of us, and that is certainly what it has become. And for that we are glad!

One suggestion. I think you should change the banner picture regularly. I nice winter scenery picture would have been nice for a while. Now a spring time looking picture with a pastel purple trim around the whole page would be great.

Hi guys, sorry to do this but I’ve just listened to a sermon by J. Dan Gill. I am trying to find out if he has other sermons online. I am just learning how to get around the internet & I cant find anything. Every time I try to email someone, I get some weird box that wont let me send an email. Is there anyone who can help me get some info on him.

    Cheers, John.

To my knowledge J. Dan Gill does not have any other sermons online. He may have some on CD and you could contact him to find out. I have just emailed him to find out his contact info. When he responds I’ll post it here. In the mean time if you get your email working his email address is gilld@realtracs.com

Having found restoration theology in the past year and having the trinity drummed into me all my life, it is a joy to find the “truth” being taught and verified by this website.

Yet, and I say that, casually, how do I come to believe the teaching that Jesus wasn’t with God before he came to earth or born of the virgin Mary.

John 17: 20-24 reads, “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me adn I am in you. May they also be in us that the worl may believe gthat you have SENT me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one. I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the worl now that you SENT me and have loved them even as ou have loved me. ………….the glory you have given me because you loved me BEFORE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD.

If someone can comment on those verses and how they seem to run contrary to the teaching that Jesus’ beginning was only at his birth, I would really love to hear those thoughts.

    Thanks

    Hey Randy,

Great to have you here! I think one of the biggest mistakes that we modern Christians make is to ignore or forget the Jewish backdrop.

Judaism at the time believes that three thing were existed before the creation: the Torah, the Messiah, the Temple (if I’m remembering the third correctly?). When they say this, they don’t precisely mean the same thing we would naturally talk about. They mean that these three things exist in the mind of God - as his plan - what he is going to do in the world.

I’m confident that the more we know and understand about Judaism and the primary source (in my view, Lazarus) behind the gospel of John - the more Jewish, less Gnostic, and ultimately, more understandable it will be.

Randy, thank you for your question. We have moved this discussion about the pre-existence of Jesus to the main part of the blog. Please click here to see our response and continue this discussion.

I just wanted to make contact and say that I throughly enjoy reading the content on this site and the blog here. I too am a fellow One God believer (I’ve used the term “Biblical Unitarian” for years - though the CES folk have now used that for one of their site names - not that I’m really complaining about that). Additionally I firmly believe that the Scriptures prove that the Dead are nonexistent (asleep) until the return of Messiah Yahshua and he resurrects the dead and establishes his Father’s Kingdom here on earth.

In posting this I also wanted to tell Sean Finnegan that I listened to the three segments here on the site from his “Sleep of the Dead” discussions on “The Byte Show” and think he has a nice speaking voice and a very relaxed yet informative delievery. Overall a very nice job Sean!

And finally I do have a question that bothers me and it might be one that would be of help to others as well.

What is your opinion of what we should as “Sleep of the Dead/Conditional Immortality” believers say to friends, co-workers, extended family and others who make a comment to us regarding the traditional, culturally dominant view of the immortal soul? Specifically when a comment is made after someone dies or when referring to someone who has been dead for years. Comments like “Oh so and so is up there in heaven watching you/him/her/us/etc.”. I feel the urge to stand up for God and the truth of his word and say that “oh so & so” is NOT anywhere but dead in the grave and will be resurrected at the same time as everyone else at Christ’s return. Yet I do not want to be rude or impolite and hurt others feelings. And that is exactly what can happen when refuting cherished beliefs with others - even when they typically haven’t put much thought into why they even believe that going to heaven is the way everything works. I guess what I’m asking in essence is how do you get someone to be receptive to the “seed” of truth and not put a wall up and be defensive? How do you plant such a seed without coming off as an insenstive fanactic? Any suggestions?

    Thanks and God bless.

    Your brother in Messiah,

    Ron

Thank you for the comments about the Sleep of Death series. It is certainly exciting to run across another truth seeker who is not afraid to go against tradition. Regarding your excellent question, I though it would be best to work on it in the main area of the blog. To that end, I have re-posted your question here. Hopefully we can work together to give you some suggestions.

Sounds like what happens to me. When you click on a link that has a “Mail To” tag, it tries to bring up MS Outlook. Since I don’t have Outlook set up on my computer, I get that box that looks like an email but has no Send Button.

What you can do is point to the link and if it’s a Mail To tag, it will say Mail To: followed by an email address. You can write down the address and put it in your email, or right click and select Properties. That will give you a dialog box with the Mail To address in it, which you can then copy and paste into your email.

    Hope this helps.

    Ron S,

I hope you know by now that we know each other from a backpacking trip back in ‘82.

With regard to your question about what to tell someone who believes a lost loved one is in heaven, I think the best approach is to affirm that we will see that person again in our glorious, physical bodies. Something like, “Yes, won’t it be wonderful to embrace them when Jesus returns and gives us our glorified bodies!”

I seem to have read somewhere that normal HTML formatting works when posting comments, but it did not seem to work for me. Can someone point me to some instructions to get this to work?

Sad it is ;-( that the multitudes believe a heretical
tradition regarding The One many, who say they are
believers, seek to follow. He Who is “The Messiah,
The Son of The Living GOD”.

Seems there is undeniable proof that the traditional name
of ‘jesus’ was not The Messiah’s GOD given birth Name
in any language! And proof exists in not just one, but all
New Testament Greek manuscripts from which catholic
and christian translators created their version of the
    “bibles”!

    Yes, undeniable proof!

First, the Greek word “Iesous” was used by those who
translated the Greek Septuagint, which was the Hebrew
to Greek translation of the Old Testimonies.

In the Greek Septuagint, which was translated prior to
the birth of The Messiah, the Greek word “Iesous” was
used to represent “Jeshua, son of Nun, so named by
    Moses”. (Numbers 13:16)

And so it was established that the Greek name “Iesous”
    represented the Hebrew name YeHoWsHuwa’(which
should have been translated as Jeshua, rather than
‘joshua’ in the English language Old Testaments).

Then in most all the New Testament translations, from
the various Greek manuscripts, the word “Iesous” was
translated correctly as Je(o)shua(YeHoWsHuwa’) in both
Acts 7:45 and Heb 4:8 and then the same Greek word
“Iesous” was traditionally(for the past 500, or so, years)
translated as their “imag”ined ‘jesus’ in all other places
of the English language New Testaments ;-(

However, in the original kjv(aptly named as king james’
version for it was of the church OF england) those who
did the translating of the New Testament decided to
rename Je(o)shua and declared the Je(o)shua of the
Old Testament to be of the same name as their
“imag”ined ‘jesus’ in both Acts 7:45 and Heb 4:8 ;-(

At least the translators of the kjv were consistent, yet
the result of their consistency is confusion ;-(

And so it was that a heretical tradition was established
less than 500 years past ;-(

Now if one wishes to take liberty and change the name
of the Old Testament “Je(o)shua” to ‘jesus’, well that is
their choice, yet a sad choice indeed and Truth ;-(

And worse yet you could accept the traditional lie that
the Greek word “Iesous” represents both “Jeshua” and
the catholic and christian ‘jesus’. For those who seek
The Light of Truth that is confusing at best! Another
    sad choice ;-(

I have been, and know that i will yet be accused of
having my portion with the “sacred name folk” or some
other similar religious group. And yet that is as far
from Truth as one could be, for i believe that, “that
which decayed and waxed old” did indeed and Truth
“vanish away” with the destruction of the earthly,
natural kingdom that was centered in old jerusalem.

The Kingdom of GOD is now Spiritual and the body of a
believer is the Temple for the indwelling Spirit, The Spirit
that leads believers on The Way to The Truth of The Life.

Sadly, many believe that a name is not important ;-( Now
when a man makes such a statement to me i simply reply,
“ok, if that’s what you believe Martha”, or if it be a woman,
“ok, if that’s what you believe Matthew”…….

Truth is important, for apart from Truth their is nothing
but “confusion and every evil work” and Truth IS that the
“imag”ined name of ‘jesus’ was not spoken for more than
1500 years after The Only True GOD raised The Messiah
from among the dead! Truth IS that The Messiah’s GOD
given birth Name was YeHoWsHuwa’(Jeshua in modern
    day English)!

Prior to that time there was no ‘j’ sound in the English
language, which is verifiable in most any encyclopedia.
And there never has been a ‘j’ sound in either Hebrew
    or Greek.

Seems the vain “imag”inations of the “catholic” and
“christian” systems of religion have caused “The Way
of Truth to be evil spoken of”, so why continue to use
their “imag”ined name for “The Son of Living GOD”?

Those who yet cling to the “imag”ined name of ‘jesus’,
after The Truth was presented unto them, have chosen
to follow the evil ways of catholicism and her firstborn
“chrisitan” daughter, “the church OF england” ;-(

I am sad for all yet held captive by the “strong delusion”
that is their “imag”ined ‘jesus’ ;-(

    Yet there is hope!

    For Miracles do happen!

Hope is there would be those who would experience
The Miracle that is receiving “a love of The Truth”!

Truth IS, Yeshua(Je(o)shua in modern day english) is
The Messiah, Immanuel, The Son of The Living GOD!

Peace, in spite of the dis-ease(no-peace) that is of
this wicked world and it’s systems of religion, for
“the WHOLE world is under the control of the evil
    one”(1Jn5:19) indeed and Truth……. francisco

    francisco,

While we would appreciate you contributing to discussions here on kingdomready, could you please ensure you post in the proper places? This “Tell Us How We’re Doing” area just isn’t the place to start up a discussion on the Messiah’s name.

Also could you please format your posts properly by NOT hitting return at the end of every line? Just keep typing in the reply box and only hit return to separate paragraphs. The way you’ve been posting is causing all your threads to be much longer in length on the web page than they need be (making them harder to read).

    Thanks!

    Tim,

OH MY! I didn’t even see your post here till tonight and I never thought the “Tim” that I’ve been reading posts from for the last few days was a “Tim” I actually knew! But after reading your comment above about a certain 1982 backpacking trip, I went in and checked your email address to confirm if it could be my old friend Tim D.! And what do you know it was! It is SO GREAT to have you here! How did you find this site brother? BTW, I’ll email you privately later to chat more in depth.

Well, late last year, I got into a debate on this blog -> http://jmoorhead.blogspot.com/. My brother joined shortly after that. It was the first time I had done this sort of thing in the internet age. We were both threatened with eternal damnation many times over the Christmas break! While I was doing research for that discussion, I ran across this site (http://cfmin.wordpress.com/, lots of material here) and let things slide for a while.

About two weeks ago, I went back to http://cfmin.wordpress.com/ and found a link to this site -> http://crossbearerforchrist.blogspot.com/2008/06/case-for-trinitarianism.html. The first post on that site was from the guy that does the Adoni Messiah site and the first post there linked to the Kingdom Ready site.

So, it was kind of a six degrees of separation thing!

    Tim,

Regular html works in the comments. Here are some examples:

to indent (as when quoting) type: <blockquote>text</blockquote> and it will look like this

    text

    to bold type <strong>text</strong>

    to italicize type <em>text</em>

    to underline type <u>text</u>

to make a link type <a href=”url”>where url is the website</a>

  25. on 11 Jul 2008 at 6:50 amTim

Thanks, I was using ‘quote’ instead of ‘blockquote.’ Do you know if bulleted lists work? That is one thing that I tried (correctly, I think) to do, but it did not seem to work.

  26. on 11 Jul 2008 at 11:47 amSean

bullets don’t work in the comments :(

  27. on 11 Jul 2008 at 5:27 pmRon S.

Not even using the standard “ol” or “ul” tags??

    Here’s a test:
    Test1
    Test2
    Test3

    Test4
    Test5
    Test6

Nope, they sure don’t work. :(
