Understanding the Christian Worldview [part 1]
[back to the other online classes]
Sean Finnegan seeks to discover how the first hearers of Jesus would have understood and responded to what he proclaimed. In order to do this we must first grasp the major themes of the Hebrew Scriptures as well as the social, political, and historical situations that occurred between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Then much attention will be paid to Jesus’ distinctive message as he spoke it and lived it out in the context of his own time.

Understanding the Christian Worldview [part 2]
Sean Finnegan continues in his historical approach to understanding the Christian worldview. Part 2 picks up where part 1 left off--the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Other major themes discussed in this part include the ascension of Jesus, the outpouring of the spirit on Pentecost, the global mission, a look at the sermons in Acts, the atonement, the inclusion of Gentiles, and how the early post-resurrection worldview effected how Christians lived out their lives.
